From the series After Life, After Life, is an ongoing project that I started in 2014. I wasn’t only interested in showing how people were remembered, but how their graves, over time, had their own life cycle. They are born through death, and like anything, if not maintained, eventually deteriorates and decays. I’m always surprised but what I find in cemeteries. I’m fascinated how loved ones are remembered, what’s left at their graves to pay tribute to them, and how different cultural traditions and economic levels pay respect to the departed. In these photographs, I hope I have shown that. Out of respect for the departed and the survivors, I have done my best not to include names which would identify who the person was.
